Offering a choice if a eeffdrint set of colors/themes, in this case girl' colors, is NOT forcing or pressuring anyone to prefer one over the other. Geez, people! Just because there is a box of pink legos (or cars, soccer balls, whatever) does not mean your little girls is forced to like them. She just has more options. I have three little girls, and honestly, they would choose pink every single time. Do I think society has pressured them into believing they are only allowed to like pink? Um, no. That's ridiculous. They like what they like, and liking pink doesn't mean they're going to grow up to be any lesser if a person. And for those who say it bugs them that things are offered in pink because girls are capable of playing with the originals, yes they are capable. But why shouldn't they have a choice? I'm not saying there should be a pink version of everything, but if someone wants to make them, so what? A lot of girls might like them. A lot of girls might still like the originals. This is such a non-issue! I mean, we have all these over-sexed, creepy toys geered toward our little girls. Why are we freaking out because they are now being offered a more innocent, creative toy in a eeffdrint color set that just might appeal to them more? And by the way, this is not sexism. It is sexist to elevate one gender over the other. It is not sexist to acknowledge the differences between them.
