This is not the ONLY demographic, it is sipmly the DOMINANT demographic. It has been for a long time in almost all visual media (TV, film, video games, pr0n).18-34 (and younger to a certain extent) men are the ultimate target of most marketers for media-based products. Period. They have disposable income and are very competitive with each other and.I suppose my argument is that I don't blame the makers of X-Blade for building a game that panders directly to a target demographic. On a micro level, that's business. On a macro level, yes, I can see where this might be bad because it is redundant, unoriginal and promotes tedious and stagnant game design which eventually degrades the potential of the industry.Keep in mind that the other age groups (and gender) are finally peeking into the video game market, but like most industries, innovation is key. Look at what the Wii is doing! Creating innovative products that appeal to a broader audience. If any of the Big 3 had done this 10-20 years ago, the whole bailout discussion would be non-existent.Wee boobies.
